Survivor winner Richard Hatch is headed to The Biggest Loser — and he’s carrying some emotional baggage with him.

The 54-year-old controversial reality star is joining Season 17 in the hopes of getting healthy again, not necessarily to see how much weight he can drop. Before it all begins, he’s opening up about where he got his body issues.

“I was raped at 8. Molested at 10. In the showers in sixth grade, a prankster peed on my leg,” he reveals to People. “At some point I decided what people thought of my body didn’t matter.”

Richard, a father of three, says these “interesting little experiences” he had as a child have led to him not giving “a crap about how people feel about how I look.”

In fact, Richard is still defending his nudity on the first-ever season of Survivor back in 2000 saying that’s “just the way it is” and he knows “that [he’s] fat.”

With Richard now weighing in at 314 pounds, he’s joining The Biggest Loser with no target weight or dreams of grandeur. He’s got some goals like dropping both his blood pressure and cholesterol to healthy levels.

“I know I’m not healthy. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol,” he says. “So it’s not about being able to lift this or do that. It’s, ‘Is my blood pressure low again? Is my cholesterol level right?’ That’s where I’m headed now.”

Biggest Loser Season 17 premieres Monday, January 4, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
