Original Story (4/19/17 at 7:04 p.m. ET):

Don’t think the Richard Simmons mystery is solved now that an update appeared on his Facebook today, April 19.

In fact, the photo and the 160-word letter is only making fans more concerned about the fitness guru’s whereabouts and condition.

Speculation around the 68-year-old’s wellbeing has escalated every year that he has stayed out of the spotlight — he hasn’t been photographed in public in over three years.

But the intrigue has reached a fever pitch this year, especially with the popular podcast Missing Richard Simmons, hosted by Dan Taberski, who used to frequent Richard’s now-defunct Beverly Hills studio.

Fans are especially worried about the “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” star’s health after he was hospitalized last year for “dehydration” and again this year for “severe indigestion” — with reports saying he had been acting erratically.

In an apparent attempt to quell fans’ curiosity, Richard (or someone from Richard’s team) offered up an update on Facebook today.

“Hello to everyone who has shown concern for me and sent their good wishes,” the message read.

“You will never know how much it means to me. Aren’t you sick of hearing and reading about me?! LOL. Well, by now you know that I’m not ‘missing,’ just a little under the weather. I’m sure I will be feeling good and back home in a couple of days.”

“This has reminded me that when you need help you can’t be afraid to reach out and ask for it,” the message continued.

“We all think we should always be able to solve our problems all by ourselves, and sometimes it’s just bigger than we are. I reached out, and I hope you will, too.

“I’m sure there are people in your life who love and care for you and would do anything to help you with the challenges you face. Just knowing you care has already made me feel better. Hope to see you again soon! Love, Richard.”

But as E! News notes, we can’t know if Richard was the one who wrote the update and the photo is at least three years old — since he’s wearing the exact same outfit and accessories as he is in the photo food blogger Tori Avey posted on her website in March 2013.

The last time he was photographed came nine months later, at a concert in December 2013.

In a phone interview with Today a year ago, Richard claimed “sort of wanted to be a little bit of a loner for a little while.”

Last month, the Los Angeles Police Department conducted a welfare check at his home and claimed the star is “perfectly fine and happy.”

But the LAPD was back at his estate today for unknown reasons — TMZ reports Richard is still in the hospital and thus wasn’t home to meet with the officers.
