Rich appeared as a guest on Bethenny this week as part of a panel of celebrities who were asked to address what qualifies as a red flag in a relationship. Host (and former Real Housewives of New York star) Bethenny Frankel wanted to know if the fact that someone has cheated in a previous relationship means you shouldn't date them.
When Bevy Smith of Fashion Queens said that a person who cheats is always going to be a cheater, Richard disagreed. "I was a cheater my whole life until I met my wife," he admitted. "It stopped — I put the ring on, and it stopped. That's the truth."
Wow! We admire Rich for being so honest. And this just goes to show what a great connection he and Kathy really have.
However, Bevy still isn't convinced that a person can stop being a cheater if they're cheating later in life. She pointed out that Richard's infidelities were when he was much younger, and he agreed that he got married in his twenties. "Yeah, in my late twenties," he said. Bevy explained that that's very different than someone who is still cheating in, say, their 40s.
Are you surprised that Richard used to be a cheater in previous relationships?
