There’s no doubt about it: Rihanna’s career is skyrocketing. But even though the pop star has plenty going on in her life right now, that doesn’t mean she’s not thinking ahead. The 25-year-old is Glamour magazine’s November cover girl and she’s opening up about her roots in Barbados and her plans for the future.
As anyone who happened to see Rihanna’s tear-jerking interview with Oprah knows, the world-famous singer is known not as Rihanna on her island home but by her birth name, Robyn (Rihanna is her middle name). The songbird tells Glamour the difference she sees between the two.
“When people call me Robyn, my head just flies around because I feel like that person knows me,” she says. “But Rihanna, that tends to be people’s own [creation]. Robyn is who I am. Rihanna — that’s an idea of who I am.”
Right now that idea of herself includes having children, says Robyn/Rihanna. “One day I will have kids,” she says. “I look forward to the day when I’m gonna be a mom.”
Don’t start bedazzling “Lil RiRi” on a onesie quite yet, though. Rihanna adds that she’s “nowhere close” to having children. “I don’t even have a potential baby daddy!”
We’re sure there are plenty of men who wouldn’t mind offering up their services as RiRi’s sperm donor, but it sounds as if at least one guy’s out of the running (for now): RiRi’s former notorious boyfriend Chris Brown. We can’t say we’re exactly sad to hear the news.
