The release date for Chris Brown’s upcoming album keeps getting pushed back so to make sure we stay interested Chris just shared the song “I’m Still.” The lyrics, however, have us wondering if the rapper is calling out ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
“I’m 24 now, yeah I’m gettin' older, but I don’t give a f—k my heart getting colder. Now every n—a in the industry done f—d my b—h, and all my n—s said ‘I told ya,’” he says on the song.
Seeing as Chris and Rihanna had one of the most high-profile, controversial relationships in the industry, could the runaround celebrity he refers to be RiRi? If so, it’s totally bad form on the part of Chris, whose rocky relationship with the fellow artist involves physical assault and a restraining order. Trashing her on a song, too? Really?
Then again, Chris could be referring to his latest love, Karrueche Tran, who might also be the woman behind some other controversial lyrics on the single. (Listen to the NSFW audio by DJ Khaled featuring Chris, Wale, Wiz Khalifa, and Ace Hood below.)
For her part, Rihanna says she hasn’t slept with anyone since starting her world tour earlier this year. “I am such a bootleg rockstar, I do nothing,” she recently told English TV host Alan Carr. Not that she’s happy to admit it, mind you. “I’m embarrassed to say that, actually,” she adds.
Whether or not Chris had his now seemingly celibate ex on his mind when recording “I’m Still,” we’ll be hearing more from him soon. He plans to release five new singles “just for my fans” on November 19 before the full album drops December 3.
