Superstars must get tired of being sloppily serenaded by their lovestruck fans, but when those fans are other famous people, we’d figure they’d be a tad more forgiving. Not so when we’re talking about Rihanna.
Sarah Hyland of Modern Family was backstage at Good Morning America on Wednesday, January 29, when she spotted the world-famous Barbadian babe walk by her dressing room. (For the football fans in the audience, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning was also roaming around GMA that same day.)
Naturally, upon spotting RiRi nearby, Sarah did what anyone would: She started singing.
“So @rihanna just walked by my room at @gma. I started singing ‘Stay’ to her... She didn’t,” Sarah messaged her fans of the morning’s events. But before you write off the “Rude Boy” singer for giving Sarah the cold shoulder, see what the eldest Dunphy daughter had to say for herself.
“I find it funny people actually think my Rihanna tweet was real. She walked by my room. That’s all. It’s called comedy people :),” she tweeted on January 30.
We should have expected this kind of leg pulling from an actress who calls Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, and Sofia Vergara her co-workers. Good one, Sarah!
