Update (August 7, 2014):
Rihanna a devil? Nay. She’s a “great girl,” says Drake.
“My album title is VIEWS FROM THE 6. The 6 is Toronto. Rih is a great girl who I know is about to kill this tour with Eminem. It’s all love!!” he tweeted August 6. Phew! Glad he clarified!
Original story (August 5, 2014):
Celebrities are entitled to a certain amount of artistic license when it comes to their shows, right? Right. But even the most open-minded of interpretations about Drake’s latest concert might raise some eyebrows. Below is what we know; you tell us what you make of it.
First, Drake headlined at the OVO Fest on his native Canadian soil the night of August 3. Second, he performed “Days in the East,” the single presumably inspired by his famous former flame, Rihanna. Third, all of a sudden, sixes flashed across the hellish red background. Separating each six? An image of Rihanna.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to conclude Drake might have feels about his and Rihanna’s latest breakup, but calling his one-time lover the Devil? Two words: drama queen.
Of course, all those sixes might mean something else since, judging from this fan’s Insta-vid, Drake looked to use four of the numeral and not the satanic three. Maybe he’s just referencing his next album, expected to be titled Views From the 6. Maybe…
Drake hasn’t said either way, simply posting a photo of himself with one of those sixes up on the screen. “All I Know,” he wrote. Guess the devil’s in the details here.
