W Magazine dubs Rihanna "the world's wildest style icon" — and she sure lives up to that title on the magazine's eye-grabbing September 2014 cover.

The 26-year-old pop star goes for a "wild child" aesthetic in the magazine's portraits — shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

In the cover image — according to W's fashion credits — Rihanna wears a Donna Karan New York dress, an Ashley Lloyd headdress, Amrapali ruby-and-diamond ear cuffs, a Meadowlark septum ring, and a Stephen Dweck sterling-silver-and-pyrite necklace.

Styled by Edward Enninful, Riri has a wide swatch of sky-blue paint on her forehead — much like Charlize Theron's grungy forehead makeup in Mad Max: Fury Road.

The photos of Rihanna inside the magazine continue the feral theme — she even poses with coyotes in one portrait! (We're assuming they're the stuffed variety.)

Elsewhere in the magazine, she poses alongside fellow fashion icons Naomi Campbell and Iman.

Still, this W feature is nowhere near the most shocking magazine photo spread featuring the audacious "Monster" singer. In April, she went totally topless on the cover of Lui, not even bothering to cover up her nipples. Talk about wild!
