Whaaaat? Did that really happen? After a recent screening, Ringer exec producers Eric Charmelo and Pam Veasey answered our burning questions about tonight’s game-changing episode.
We ended the episode after Bridget refused to help Gemma. Then her bestie called Andrew (presumably to spill the affair/identity beans). But when he showed up to the Butler household, Henry turned him away ... only to walk through a blood-stained apartment. So ...
Is Gemma (Tara Summers) definitely dead?
Eric Charmelo: There’s blood on the wall. So, you fill in the blanks however you want to.
How long have you known about what you’re doing to Gemma’s character?
Pam Veasey: Not a long time. The decision evolved to add tension to the structure of the show.
We don’t count her missing yet. And it makes for interesting texture for Henry (Kristoffer Polaha), who has to deal with this situation.
Henry hasn’t been a bad guy. Is this a permanent shift?
Pam: You’re presuming things we want you to presume, but we’re far more clever than that.
Eric: But Henry is a man on the verge; when he’s deprived of the one thing that he wants more than anything, it will drive him to desperate measures.
Is this a world where Henry can stay part of Siobhan’s life?
Eric: Regardless of “did he” or “didn’t he,” he will be part of this world. Once again, it’s, “Will he be friend or foe of Bridget or will he be friend or foe of Siobhan?”
Pam: Kris Polaha is not going anywhere. We like him too.
You’ve reduced Andrew and Siobhan's friends from two to one. Will you now bring in more people?
Pam: Yes. The world’s growing. Bridget has to live in Siobhan’s world where she meets more of her friends and Bridget’s world will come to Sioban’s world.
When Juliet (Zoey Deutch) goes to public school will we be meeting new friends of hers?
Eric: Yes. It’s going to open up a whole new world to Juliet. For better or for worse.
When does Jason Dohring come in?
Eric: It will be in the next episode. He’s going to play Juliet's public school teacher who she sees as an ally.
It’s the CW – will there be a student/teacher relationship there?
Pam: I don’t know. I’m from CBS. In that world we don’t do that. (Laughs) Juliet likes her teacher.
When will we get more information about Justin Bruening’s character?
Eric: In the next episode.
Will the sponsor we met this week be a part of the conspiracy?
Eric: I will say this. In regards to all the characters, appearances are deceiving and everybody has a duplicitous nature. Anyone and everyone in this world is suspect.
