While Ringer's signature flourish is said to be its film noir vibe, all that mysterious, dark, twisty drama smacks of another series a certain Ringer actor also happened to star on.

Nestor Carbonell (Agent Victor Machado) tracked more than Richard Alpert's brooding gaze from his last acting gig on Lost onto the set of Ringer. Both series share that oh-so-gripping juicy thriller thing.

True, Lost may not have featured twins switching places, but that's just about the only mystery trope they avoided. Both SSarah Michelle Gellar and Nestor admit to the inevitable comparisons, but promise audiences Ringer is no time-and-space-traveling, tropical purgatory adventure.

"I loved Lost , but I felt it just got deeper and deeper and we never get anything out of it," Sarah told the Los Angeles Times.

"The big questions we have answers to, and we give them out a little bit every episode."

Nestor echoed her sentiments at the Paley Center for Media's fall TV preview. He revealed that we won't be getting such complex back story about the peripheral characters, like his own Agent Machado. "We don't go into his history just yet, but I'm good with that," he dished. "I had a lot of fun doing that on Lost, but I kind of like not knowing who this guy is."

Get sucked in Tuesday, September 13 when Ringer premieres on The CW.
