Rita Ora Admits She’s “Not Doing Too Great” After Calvin Harris Breakup — “It Was a Wake Up Call”

Rita Ora may have moved on already, but in the September issue of Glamour UK, the British pop star opened up about the aftermath of her split with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris earlier this summer. Despite being romantically linked to aspiring LA rapper — and son of American designer Tommy Hilfiger — Ricky Hilfiger, it seems Rita is still reeling from her breakup with Calvin.

"I'm gonna tell you the truth: I'm not doing too great," the Kosovo-born singer told the mag. "But, I'm doing better than I thought. I adore him and he's such an amazing human being. It was more about the situation. It was inconvenient. It sucks. It wasn't about 'us.' It was about the world we live in."

Calvin confirmed the breakup news in June, tweeting, “To address speculation—myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best."

One week later, Rita tweeted: "I don’t usually address speculation but I’ve had an incredible time w Calvin, & i will treasure the memories." And apparently, it wasn’t easy to do in 140 characters or less!

"Honestly, if Calvin hadn't done it, I wouldn't have done it," she told Glamour UK of tweeting about her split. "It took me five days to write three sentences. It was a massive...I don't know." Rita called the split “a wakeup call,” telling the magazine, “When I go for something, I go in 100 percent.”

Rita is no doubt putting 100 percent into her new relationship with Ricky Hilfiger. Rita and Ricky have only been together for a few weeks, but the two are already collaborating on new music. Seeing as “Black Widow” is currently our no. 1 jam, we can’t wait to hear what Rita releases next!
