Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke Avoid Each Other in Public Now — Awkward!

Remember how uncomfortable you felt watching 20-year-old Miley Cyrus twerking it up on Robin Thicke, 36, during their MTV Video Music Awards performance back in August 2013? Well, it appears that things are even more awkward between the duet partners these days — to the point where, according to reports, they literally avoid one another in public. Yipes!

According to one of Us Weekly's insiders, the beef originates with Robin's being upset over Miley "going too far" with the foam finger during the performance. Yeah, you and the rest of America, Rob.

Meanwhile, another source says the issue really is that Miley's star really took off afterwards… and Robin's didn't. "Robin is jealous Miley's career took off after that," they explain, adding, "He thinks she hijacked the performance." It's true, while the "Wrecking Ball" singer was seen as edgy and exciting, he was criticized for being "old enough to know better."

For her part, Miley reportedly resents Robin for not standing up for her in media appearances after the awards show. For instance, when Oprah Winfrey asked him about her sexual dance moves, the R&B singer said, "That's on her."

"Miley thinks Robin threw her under the bus.," details the insider.

And yet, one additional source says though there's not technically any "bad blood" going on, they aren't exactly friends, either, choosing to avoid one another at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party on January 25. "They were just a few tables apart and never spoke," the onlooker stated.
