Chris Colfer is one busy guy! In July, he’s setting off on a book tour to promote his latest Land of Stories tale, and after that, he’s starring in a movie based on playwright Noel Coward’s life. And, oh yeah, there’s Glee to think about, too.
But it sounds like Chris might be adding another major film role to his to do list: A spot in the upcoming Absolutely Fabulous movie, which is still in the process of being written!
Jennifer Saunders, who originally starred in the early 90s British comedy alongside Joanna Lumley, is writing a screenplay based on the show and is hoping the film will be released late next year. And according to Jennifer herself, Chris is a lock for a role in the movie.
“You know Glee, I’ve promised Chris Colfer he can be in it, and I’ve said it so often that now he has to be in it,” Jennifer told the Sydney Telegraph in April. “I’ve promised so many people they’re going to be in it and I haven’t even written it yet. I’m not going to tell you [how much has been written] because it frightens me. Let’s just say it’s in the early stages but I will not renege on that bet.”
The more film roles Chris manages to scoop up, the better! We can’t wait to find out if he snags a role for sure — There’s no denying he’d be an awesome addition to an Ab Fab movie.
Do you want to see Chris in an Absolutely Fabulous movie, or would you rather see him star in something different?
