Rosie O’Donnell’s Daughter Hospitalized For Psychiatric Evaluation
Rosie O'Donnell's formerly estranged daughter has been hospitalized.
The former The View presenter’s daughter Chelsea has reportedly undergone a psychiatric evaluation at Long Island hospital.
Though sources say she is "alert and awake" and "is safe,” there are no further details about when she might be released, reports E! News.
Chelsea was allegedly admitted to the hospital after suffering from a drug overdose.
The difficult news comes just a week after Rosie shared a selfie of her and Chelsea on social media for her 19th birthday.
"Chelsea and me - what a difference a year makes #hopelives,” she wrote.
The pair recently reconciled after a year of bitter fighting.
Chelsea had previously claimed her adoptive mother ordered her to leave the family home in August of 2015, just two weeks before she turned 18.
“Rosie said that I was almost 18, and she got all this crap from work, and she didn't want to have to deal with that at home too,” Chelsea said of the argument.
"She asked me to talk about what was going on and I didn't want to. So she asked for my phone and my computer. I gave them to her.
“A few hours later, she told me to leave. I wasn't planning to go until I turned 18 on the 24th."
Rosie reported Chelsea missing after the incident but she was later found with her boyfriend Steven Sheerer.
But Chelsea claims that when she returned home her bags were packed.
"She had two of my bags packed with clothes. Literally 10 minutes after the police had dropped me off at the house, I got in a car and went to a friend's house."
Though the two have a rocky past, Rosie continues to support her daughter in this trying time.
