Russell Brand Confirms Split From Girlfriend Jemima Khan
Hide your girlfriends, hide your wives, because Russell Brand is a single man once again.
The comedian is back on the market a mere 15 days after getting together with New Statesman editor Jemima Khan.
Prior to stepping out in public with Jemima, Russell mentioned in a piece penned for the Guardian that he was "presently beleaguered by a nerdish, whirling dervish," and, despite his admitted struggles with sex addiction in the past, claimed he was "eschewing all others" for her.
However, E! Online reports that the flamboyant funnyman spent the weekend acting less-than-committed, making out with a few audience members at a performance in Atlanta on Saturday, September 28. Russell made sure there was no question about his behavior being out of line, however, announcing, “I’m currently single.”
This is far from the first heartbreak for Russell, who filed for divorce from ex Katy Perry in 2011. He’s since been linked to makeup artist Nicola Schuller and talent agent Isabella Brewster, who recently announced her engagement to NBA player Baron Davis.
Jemima, a fixture on the British social scene, thanks to her work as Vanity Fair’s European editor-at-large, had previously been married to Pakistani cricket player Imran Khan for nine years before starting a relationship with Hugh Grant, a coupling that raised her profile significantly in both America and the UK.
