Ryan Culberson Speaks Out About Decision to Seek Help For PTSD

Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson's son-in-law, Ryan Culberson, has been battling post-traumatic stress and is deciding to get help for it. Now, he is explaining how he came to this decision.

Ryan who is married to Vicki's daughter, Briana, and got into a nasty spat with Lydia McLaughlin's mom on the show in Season 8 tells Radar Online that his behavior on the show played a role in him deciding to participate later this month in Save a Warrior. It's a five-day program geared toward helping Marines like Ryan, who has served five combat tours.

"I know I’ve been painted in some not so great light in the past season, and after some deep soul searching, I decided to reach out and get some help with the PTSD I have been dealing with for quite awhile," Ryan says.

"I’m really excited to go," Ryan continues. "I’ve known for awhile I needed something, so hopefully this program is what I need." The program will be filmed for a documentary and is likely to air later on CNN.

Meanwhile, Briana is pregnant with the couple's second child. "We are expecting our second child, so very exciting times!" he says.

We're proud of Ryan for getting the help he needs, and we wish the couple all the best with their soon-to-arrive bundle of joy!

Are you surprised that Ryan is getting help for PTSD?
