UPDATE (5/9/17 at 11:29 p.m. ET):

Is Ryan Seacrest ready to leave Live! With Kelly and Ryan?!

Certain sources believe the 42-year-old may be ditching his current gig to host American Idol, now that it’s officially coming back.

Live! is just another job on Ryan’s schedule whereas Kelly lives and breathes the show. It is everything to her. Her entire identity,” a source told Radar Online.

“He will fly in on Sunday nights, and leave Thursday after taping two shows. Kelly fears that he is treating Live! as a part time job.”

Original Story (5/8/17 at 12:27 p.m. ET):

Ryan Seacrest isn’t sure if he can really do it all.

The TV host has just been handed a permanent co-hosting slot on Live With Kelly and Ryan, and though he’s thrilled there are talks American Idol will be returning, he’s not sure he has enough time to host both shows.

On Monday’s episode of the daytime talk show, Kelly Ripa questioned her new co-host upon hearing reboot rumors.

"I think this has to happen. I went into seclusion when American Idol was canceled. Are you going to host it? Please tell me yes,” she asked.

"I don't know if I can host it. Do you know the preparation I have to do for [Live!] every night?"

But the longtime talk show host wasn't prepared to give up without a fight and vowed to do whatever she could to make it possible for her partner to work on both their show, which films in New York, and the talent contest in Los Angeles.

"Yes you can, you can! I know that you're busy in the mornings, I get it. I understand it’s hard doing double duty — you've got the radio show, you've got this,” she continued.

“But your nights are free you don't have that much to do. You can do this! You can disconnect for that! On the days where it is the day after, I will totally ...you won't even have to think, I will do it all!"

Ryan admitted he was devastated when American Idol — which he hosted for 15 years — was pulled off air last year and always hoped it would come back sometime in the future.

"Whatever you want. You're my work wife! I say yes and bow to you. No, I don't know about that part yet. We haven't gotten that far,” he revealed.

"This was news to me last week. I had said at the end of the series, 'Goodbye for now' — hoping somewhere it would come back."
