Samuel L. Jackson Performs Slam Poetry About Boy Meets World (VIDEO)

Girl Meets World’s summer premiere is almost here — although not soon enough. And we wouldn’t blame you if you had a little catching up to do before the sequel finally airs, considering the fact that it’s been awhile since Cory and Topanga last graced our TV screens. But don’t worry, Boy Meets World fans: Samuel L. Jackson has got you covered.

In a totally unexpected — but completely awesome — turn of events, Samuel performed the best piece of slam poetry we’ve ever heard when he stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday.

And his poem covers just about everything, from the beginning of the show to the very end of the final episode, when Feeny tells his beloved students, “Class dismissed” for the last time. We almost want to cry just thinking about it.

“Boy meets world, boy greets world,” Samuel’s dramatic poem begins, after he takes a long puff of a cigarette, as poets do. “Hello world! I am Cory Matthews, short and average, head full of curls. The year: 1993.”

From there, Samuel goes on to tell the beautiful love story of Cory and Topanga, how Shawn’s “trailer trash is another man’s treasure,” and even does a remarkable rendition of Eric’s Feeny call.

If poetry was like this in high school, we might have paid more attention in English class.

But it’s not enough to just read our description of the poem. Get the full experience and check out the video below — you will not regret it.
