Though the season finale of Grey's Anatomy — Season 10, Episode 24 — is scheduled to continue filming for another week or so, Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) is nearly ready to hang up her surgical scrubs for the last time.
The 42-year-old actress — who is leaving the show after this season — tweeted on April 11 that she and TV lover Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) were almost done acting together.
Sandra posted a selfie of herself cheek-to-cheek with Kevin, writing, "Shooting one of our last scenes" — and adding a frowning emoticon.
"My dearest partner in crime," Kevin tweeted back. "It's too much to take! What [are] we gonna do?"
Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres) retweeted Sandra's post, adding the hashtag "#TeamTissues."
And Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) tacked on no fewer than six sobbing faces. "I think these emoji might be the right ones," she wrote. "#emojiproblems."
In announcing her departure from the show back in August, Sandra told The Hollywood Reporter that she hoped her TV alter-ego would exit with more smiles than tears.
"I want this to be a celebration," she says. "I want us to get to that point where we see this character ride off into the sunset … Playing Cristina and growing her and growing myself in her, I want to usher her into the next section of her life in the best way possible. It's got to be Cristina Yang's happily-ever-after."
Luckily for us, the actress is open to future guest appearances, especially for the eventual series finale: "There's no way that no one could keep me away from that."
We have quite a few emojis in mind for that prospect!
