We’ve got our own ideas on why the show’s lasted so long (and a lot of them revolve around the hottest doctors on television), but what else makes a TV show last over a decade? Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) recently shared her insights on what’s made Grey’s last in an interview with On The Red Carpet.
And Sandra’s reasoning is simple: There’s no other show on TV like it.
“There aren’t a million of these shows, that’s why we’ve lasted as long as we have,” Sandra said. “10 years ago, there was a core group of characters who seemed to have just struck a chord, not only with people in America but internationally.”
“As that core family has changed and family members have come on, we’ve picked the right people and paired them up with the right people to continue that kind of loyalty with the characters,” Sandra added.
