Sara Ramirez and Jessica Capshaw Win 2013 AfterEllen Visibility Awards

The people have spoken… and validated our undying love for Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres) and all her social activism, on-screen and off!

The 38-year-old thespian, one of our two fave pretend-lesbian fake-doctors, was just voted as the "Best Lesbian/Bi Ally" by the users of AfterEllen in the site's 2013 Visibility Awards.

"The Grey's Anatomy actress has starred in more episodes of TV than any current LGBT character," the editors tout. "180, to be exact."

We had no idea Callie was such a groundbreaker — and we offer our biggest kudos to Sara on being the awesome actress behind the long-lasting LGBT-er!

"And when she's not on our televisions, she’s out in the world standing up for equality," the commendation continues. "We can't pray away the gay, but we can pray Callie Torres will be on-screen for ten more seasons."

Hear hear!

In other happy news, Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) is the Editor's Pick in the "Favorite Lesbian/Bi Character" category. "Good characters are not always likable. In fact good characters are written to be human," the editor writes. "Shonda Rhimes wrote a very real woman in Arizona Robbins this year when she showed she's not without flaws, and Jessica Capshaw performed the role perfectly."

If the site had had a category for "Favorite One-Legged Lesbian," Arizona would be a lock for that, too.

Congrats again, Sara, Jessica, and Shonda!
