The doctor is out. Sara Ramirez is leaving Grey's Anatomy after more than 10 years on the hit ABC drama.

The 40-year-old Tony-winning actress sparked fan speculation she might be moving on from the show with a cryptic tweet last month, and the Season 12 finale confirmed her character, Dr. Callie Torres, would indeed be moving to New York City with new girlfriend Penny.

“I’m deeply grateful to have spent the last 10 years with my family at Grey’s Anatomy and ABC, but for now, I’m taking some welcome time off,” Sara said in a statement, per TVLine. “[Series creator] Shonda [Rhimes has] been so incredible to work for, and we will definitely continue our conversations. I send my love to Ellen [Pompeo], the rest of the cast and crew, and I look forward to always being a part of the Shondaland family!”
