Is Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland Engaged to Matt Prokop?

Sarah Hyland seems a lot more mature than her Modern Family character, Haley Dunphy. But little Lily is more mature than Haley, so that's not saying much.

Sarah is actually turning 23 on Sunday, November 24. She's been dating High School Musical 3 star Matt Prokop, also 23, for four years. She told E! News she never saw herself getting married at a young age like this, despite rumors in the Enquirer that she and Matt are engaged and "Julie Bowen does not approve." (Ha! You don't want to cross the Modern Family mama.)

"It's all fictitious," Sarah said. She's just happy to continue as things are now. "We've been together a long time, we're practically married. We have a dog and live together, so I'm OK with that."

In an appearance on The View in 2011, Matt and Sarah explained that they met at a High School Musical 3 "mix-and-match" chemistry screen test, but weren't paired up. At the time, Sarah lived in New York and he was in L.A. When Sarah moved to L.A., they reconnected and started living together at age 19.

They seem like a close pair, on and off-screen. They worked together on the Disney Channel movie Geek Charming and he was also in an episode of Modern Family. They also achieved a milestone together, as Sarah tweeted in June 2013: "So me and @mattpro13 have officially made it. @AmandaBynes called us ugly! #blessed." Yeah, they had a whole feud with Amanda! (But then again, who hasn't?)

It’s great to see Sarah and Matt are still going strong. If you were either of them, would you consider getting engaged at some point? If so, when? If you’re practically married already, how do you know if or when you want to take the next step?
