The Walking Dead: Why Sarah Wayne Callies Owes Melissa McBride a Bottle of Wine

Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) had a pretty good friendship on The Walking Dead, and the actresses seem just as close in real life. Sadly, we lost Sarah when Lori met her tragic (but beautiful) end in Season 3. Melissa's Carol is just now coming into her own, and Lori would probably be proud.

Sarah's career is still going strong, and she stars in the new movie Into the Storm. She connected with the TWD cast at Comic-Con, and when sharing the photo shown above, Sarah wrote, “One of my favorite people on earth, miss Melissa Mcbride.....”

Sarah told Zap2it her family and Andrew Lincoln's (Rick Grimes) family are very close, and she sees Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) quite a bit. When Sarah and Melissa reunited in San Diego, Sarah was reminded of a debt she owes the TWD actress for helping her land her role in Into the Storm.

"Melissa McBride actually taped me in her trailer," Sarah said. "I jokingly said, 'If I get this I'm going to get you a bottle of wine.' Then I saw her last week at Comic-Con and she said, 'Where's my wine?' So I'm going to send her a nice bottle of wine soon."

The check's in the mail, Melissa!

Lori wasn't always our favorite character, but Sarah is the queen (or “First Lady” as Carol once said of Lori) and we're looking forward to seeing her on screen again. And if Melissa wants some drinking buddies for that wine, just give us a call.

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres Sunday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
