The Pretty Little Liars star dropped her new track on Friday (July 12), and the slow-tempo country tune has us buying tissues in bulk. Inspired by one of Sasha's dear friends, "I Can't Fix You," tells the story of wanting to help a friend overcome addiction, but knowing that ultimately, it's up to them to make the change.
“I wrote ‘I Can’t Fix You’ for a friend that struggled and is struggling with addiction, and it was really hard for me to be close to someone like that and not be able to do something,” Sasha shares in a new promo vid for the single. “I wanted to save this person. I wanted to fix them. And, I couldn’t. And it kind of came down to me realizing that, because I couldn’t do that, all I could do was love them and support them, and try to keep them accountable.”
But the heartbreaking experience not only inspired a song, it also inspired Sasha to team up with A Light of Hope, a non-profit support center located in Santa Clarita Valley, California that provides support for youths, ages 14-26, and their families struggling with substance abuse issues or other self-destructive actions or behaviors. Ten percent of the single's sales will go to A Light of Hope.
