According to The Wrap, Sasha — along with Russell Brand and 17 year-old Austin Abrams — are in talks to star in the Werner Herzog project, which chronicles the aftermath of a tragic school shooting. The film, based off DBC Pierre’s provocative 2003 novel, will be a satirical black comedy that “comments on America’s obsession with both fame and violence.”
Set in the small border town of Martirio, Texas, the book follows the aftermath of a violent school shooting perpetrated by Jesus Navarro, a bullied loner who guns down six classmates before shooting himself. His only friend, Vernon Little, watches Jesus’ suicide and then becomes a suspect in the shootings.
Sasha is eyeing the role of the “beautiful but self-absorbed object of Vernon’s affections” (sounds a little too similar to Ali DiLaurentis), while British comedian Russell Brand is going after the role of a disarming but manipulative reporter who is “willing to betray anyone in order to get a fresh angle on the hot-button school shooting story.”
The pretty little starlet most recently starred in G.B.F., which recently hit VOD in 2014. G.B.F. follows a reject high school loser who is coerced into coming out by his friends. His confession sends shockwaves around the school and catches the attention of the three most popular girls in school — Fawcett (Sasha), Caprice (Xosha Roquemore), and ‘Shley (Andrea Bowen) — who are now out to make him their gay best friend.
We love that Sasha is following her Hollywood dreams onto the big screen! Not only is this talented TV star already a country music sensation, but now she can also add bonafide movie star to her growing resume.
