Khloe Kardashian may have filed for divorce in December, but estranged husband Lamar Odom isn’t throwing in the towel on their marriage. In fact, in an interview with Us Weekly, the basketball star, who recently signed on with Spain’s Laboral Kutxa, says Khloe will “always be [his] wife, no matter what.”
As for their impending divorce, Lamar is optimistic that it won’t be finalized. "Who knows? We don't know exactly if [the divorce is going through]. Only time will tell. I hope not.” There hasn’t been any sign of proceedings moving forward, so perhaps that’s not necessarily denial on his part?
Though Lamar seems to admit to making mistakes in his marriage to Khloe — “We all have regrets,” he says — he still looks upon the last four years with pride. "Those were some of the best years of my life," he recalls. "Being married and being married to a woman I decided to marry was, besides having children, the most important thing in my life."
However, Lamar’s primary focus these days seems to be getting his basketball career — the other love of his life — back on track. Looking forward to playing abroad, he explains his decision to sign on with Labora Kutxa as being motivated by “the love of the game,” and seems intent to prove that the team made the right move in bringing him on.
“I’ve got a winner mentality, the mentality of a champion,” he boasts.
Whether he’ll win back Khloe remains to be seen.
