Scandal makes us flinch, scream, and fret every week with its twisty tales, and without fail, every Thursday night we’re on the edge of our seats waiting for more. So, what are we supposed to do during the hiatus that began after the dramatic December 12 winter finale? And when does it come back?
We can't believe what Shonda Rhimes and her sadistic cast of characters unleashed on one another in Season 1, Episode 10, “A Door Marked Exit,” but it wasn't pretty. Last we left them, Huck had tortured and licked Quinn, Sally had killed her husband after Cyrus’s own husband hooked up with him, Liv sent her secretly evil mother off the continent, and… well, we could go on.
The finale left us with plenty to choose from and questions that remain unanswered — like whether Huckleberry Quinn can survive the torture — fans can’t expect that we’ll get any resolution on most of the conflict still up in the air anytime soon, but when do we get to watch more Scandal?
Unfortunately, not for a while. The third season show is currently slated to return to its ABC home on February 27, 2014 for Season 3 Episode 11.
It was recently announced that the Shonda Rhimes show would be cut short, to 18 episodes instead of the usual 22. This is likely due to Kerry Washington (Olivia Pope)’s pregnancy, as the star is currently around five months pregnant and writers will not be adding a baby to the OPA anytime soon.
As for what we’re going to do for the next couple months, well, we’re going to start by taking a deep breath and trying to get our blood pressure to drop a little — or a lot.
