Scandal Ratings Soar to Series High, Grey’s Anatomy Holds Steady
Shonda Rhimes might be having the best week ever. Not only is she the mastermind behind two of the most compelling dramas on TV -- which bring in five percent of ABC’s total revenue! -- but one of those shows just hit a series high in the ratings.
Sadly, we’re not talking about Grey’s Anatomy. But rest assured Grey’s fans, the penultimate episode of Season 9 (Episode 23: “Readiness Is All”) scored an impressive 2.9 in the coveted 18-49 advertising demo. Over eight million of you tuned in to watch as a superstorm wreaked havoc on Grey Sloan Memorial, and these numbers pretty much guarantee a Season 10.
But it was Shonda’s other show, Scandal, that achieved a new series high and delivered the highest rating for any other drama in the 10 p.m. timeslot. Gladiators will be happy to know Scandal scored a stellar 3.2 in the demo, building on its Grey’s Anatomy lead-in by 10 percent!
Way to go, ShondaLand fans!
Catch the Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 finale on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
