Deadline announced on August 28 that the accomplished actress is the latest gladiator to join in on the politically thrilling drama. She will have a recurring role, not as one of Liv’s (Kerry Washington) minions, but as a politician. Details on her appearance are being kept sealed pretty tightly, and since we don’t have access to Huck, it’s unlikely we’ll know much until closer to her appearance.
Since Friends ended, Lisa has mainly been producing — and interestingly, her producing partner Dan Bucatinsky is a mainstay on Scandal. Fans know him as Cyrus’ hubby James, the political correspondent who gets all the good stories but is seldom allowed to write any of them without receiving the Chief of Staff’s cold metal stare.
We’re no screenwriters (actually, we are, call us), but considering Lisa and Dan have real life chemistry, it would be fun to see their storylines intersect. Perhaps Lisa’s character could stumble upon yet another of Fitz’s many transgressions and seek help from James? What else do you want to see her do while she stops by the Capitol? Spill.
