Saturday Night Live ain’t broke, but it’s still getting a fixer. Scandal’s Kerry Washington is set to host the late night NBC variety show on November 2, marking her first foray into sketch comedy.

While the actress is known for her quick-talking Gladiator ways on the hit ABC drama, she will show off her comedic flair on SNL in a few short weeks. Eminem will join her as musical guest (in his sixth time performing), and if all goes well, he’ll be rapping about “Olitz” all night long. Plus, have you heard this girl sing? We’re ready for her musical numbers.

Kerry has been in the business since the early ‘90s, and along the way, had a few comedic roles — including romantic comedy Peeples with The Office’s Craig Robinson — but is well-recognized for her dramatic roles, including Scandal, Django Unchained, and Ray.

Off-screen, Kerry is always smiling and laughing with her co-stars. Recently, she “role-swapped” with Tony Goldwyn (Fitz) in an amazing video and they couldn’t stop cracking up. We’re confident that she’ll knock it out of the park in Studio 8H, and if not? We’re sure there are plenty of Scandalous puns to be made.

Additionally, this is another milestone for Kerry: She is the ninth black woman ever to host the show (out of 751 episodes of SNL, according to BuzzFeed) and this casting comes on the heels of cast member Kenan Thompson claiming there is a lack of talented black female comediennes to be on the show. We're ready for Kerry to prove him wrong.

What do you think of Kerry hosting SNL? Sound off below, and catch her episode on Saturday, November 2 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
