Our list of which Scandal characters we’d not want to cross is getting awfully long these days, and after the Season 3 winter finale, we tossed Sally Langston to the top of that list. Madame Vice President did this little thing you might’ve noticed, wherein she murdered her husband with a letter opener, and who did she call first? Cyrus Beene.

But while it was an admirable choice, E! Online reveals that it might not have been Sally’s best choice, at least insofar as her adviser is concerned. “You can expect to see Cyrus and Leo battle it out over Sally Langston in the new year,” Spoiler Chat reveals. True, Leo didn’t seem exactly stoked that his client called the President’s Chief of Staff instead of him after she got a little stabby.

“I’m always your first call!” he yelled after finding out what happened. But that’s not the end of the story, of course, because this is Scandal, and she’s still down a husband and up a murdery conscience. “Leo is ridiculously formidable for Cyrus,” Mr. Beene himself, Jeff Perry, says of his new opponent.

“It’s like, this guy is no joke. He is a scary, smart mercenary. He is so scary, he is so damn smart, he pisses Cyrus off, I’ll tell you that,” the actor continues. That’s news to us, as so far Leo has just kind of been hanging around, giving advice to clients who don’t follow it. But it seems that now Cyrus and Leo will be “butting heads” as they try to gain control of Sally.

We get that Leo still wants to get Sally elected President, but does he really think he has a shot, or is there something else in it for him? Cyrus, meanwhile, has to figure out how to keep himself out of harm’s way, considering he was in on the plot to frame Daniel — a fact that Sally doesn’t yet know — and he helped cover up the murder.

Who do you think will win in a battle between Cyrus and Leo? Tell us your thoughts below!
