Scandal Season 3 hasn't exactly been lacking in characters who bring big drama, but we can always do with a new face stirring up trouble. So imagine just how excited we are to hear that Homeland star Nazanin Boniadi will be making her way to the DC drama for the second half of the season.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, reporting that Nazanin will be a recurring character in the back eight episodes of the season. There aren't any details about her character, but she's said to have a "heavy presence" in the remainder of the season, and will first appear when the show returns on February 27, 2014.

The stunning Nazanin caught the attention of many American viewers when she played FBI analyst Fara Sherazi on Homeland Season 3. You might also know her as Nora, one of Barney Stinson's most serious love interests from How I Met Your Mother.

Like many Scandal stars, Nazanin has worked on a Shonda Rhimes show before; she appeared in a 2013 episode of Grey's Anatomy.
