Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) may not be the most honorable character on Scandal — to put it lightly — but he's consistently one of the most fascinating. In the first half of Season 3 he finally reached too far in his attempt to control everyone around him, blowing any shred of trust left in his marriage to pieces.

What can we expect from DC's craftiest chess player when the season returns on February 27, 2014? New spoilers give us a clue.

Jeff Perry spoke to TVLine, about Cyrus's state of mind when we return, and it sounds like he's still reeling from his mistakes. After all, not only is his marriage held together by nothing more than James's ambition at this point, but he’s also completely lost control of Vice President Sally Langston.

"Cyrus is more scared of what he’s done than we’ve ever seen him," Jeff Perry dished. "He’s scrambling like hell to get out of it."

And here's another interesting note: apparently Cyrus and Harrison (of all people) have some upcoming scenes. It seems like Harrison is finally getting his own arc this season, and we're interested to see how Cyrus will overlap with that.

Do you think Cyrus can fix the mess he's made? Let us know in the comments below!
