Scandal's Season 3 midseason premiere, Season 3, Episode 11 ("Ride, Sally, Ride"), is still over a week away — it airs on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC but fans have been given a glimpse into the future of Olivia Pope and her gladiators thanks to the newly released synopsis Season 3, Episode 12 ("We Do Not Touch the First Ladies").

The synopsis teases that "Fitz is faced with the harsh truth" this episode, going on to explain that, "Old feelings and jealousies arise at a Presidential event causing Fitz to face a harsh reality. Meanwhile, Quinn tries to prove herself to B613 and Leo Bergen sets up a meeting between Sally and an old friend."

Color us intrigued! We knew from the Episode 11 synopsis that Sally still has a few tricks up her sleeve, and we already want to know more about this "old friend." We're always amused to see Fitz having to face harsh truths (he often doesn't handle them so well, does he?), and the fact that Quinn is still trying to prove herself to B613 is very interesting — especially now that Jake is in charge.
