Scandal Season 3 still has a few explosive episodes left in its 18 episode run (the finale is on April 17), but can we expect to see Olivia Pope and co. back next year for Season 4?

While ABC has not officially announced a renewal for the show, it's one of the network's biggest hits, and there is absolutely no reason to think it won't be renewed. After all, while Scandal did have a shortened season this year, due to star Kerry Washington's pregnancy, the network appears to still have utmost faith in the addictive power of this buzzy political drama.

If the numbers aren't enough to set you at ease, maybe a recent tweet from showrunner Shonda Rhimes will do the trick.

When fans tweeted at Shonda asking if they should be worried about Scandal's lack of renewal so far, she wrote back, "Nobody should be worried.  ABC has not done its pickups yet for next season. They always do them in like, early May."

She went on to add, "But um...clearly, you can assume good news."

So relax, Gladiators. You can consider Season 4 handled.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
