Scott Disick has a devil-may-care attitude on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but is he letting his lax lifestyle bleed into his job as a parent?
During his trip to vacation to Punta Mita, Mexico with girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian and their two children, Mason, 4, and Penelope, 18 months, Scott seemed to be throwing caution to the wind when took his young son for an ATV ride without a helmet or other protective gear.
Most ATV instructors and rentals will require drivers to wear helmets, shoulder pads, and other joint protection before going for a ride, due to the vehicle’s lack of exterior protection and the frequency with which the heavy machines flip.
While it doesn’t appear that Scott took Mason on any particularly dangerous terrain, spending most of his time riding along a flat beachfront area, without seat belts to hold riders in, it’s easy for children to be thrown off and injured.
Scott isn’t the first celebrity to get caught taking their little ones out for a less-than-safe joyride on a four wheeler. Supermodel Gisele sparked concern when she went out for a ride in Costa Rica earlier this month with her one-year-old daughter, Vivian Lake, strapped into a baby carrier without any additional helmet or safety padding.
Scott hasn’t yet publicly commented on his unsafe decision, but we’re sure he’s due for an earful when protective partner Kourtney gets wind of this.
Do you think Scott should have taken more precautions when he was riding with Mason?
