Fifty Shades of Grey Screenwriter: Jamie Dornan Is “Going to Get an Oscar” (VIDEO)
Kelly Marcel's Oscar prediction for Jamie Dornan is going to make you say, "Oh, my!"
The 40-year-old screenwriter, who adapted Fifty Shades of Grey for the big screen, sat down with fellow writer Reza Aslan in Los Angeles on August 6 — as part of the Writer's Room series of events — and, per Us Weekly, declared that the film's leading man deserves a golden statuette or two: "He's going to get an Oscar!"
"Apparently Jamie is great at being soft and hard at the same time," Kelly added, borrowing a description straight from the book. "Which is hard to do for an actor!"
Also, for all you Shades fans, you'll be glad to know that Kelly confirms that Anastasia does indeed call Christian her popsicle in the film, as she did in the book. (Thank goodness!)
By the way, Kelly has plenty of industry experience under her belt — she co-created the 2011 FOX dinosaur drama Terra Nova and co-wrote the 2013 film Saving Mr. Banks.
We'll just have to see whether Kelly is right about Jamie when the movie heats up multiplexes on February 13. Could be a very steamy Valentine's Day for all of us!
