Just a couple of months ago we were checking in with some of our most beloved Bachelor and Bachelorettes of yesteryear on the state of their current careers — namely, whether they went back to their day jobs. One fella whose answer presented difficult? Season 17’s Sean Lowe.

The Texas hunk worked a variety of gigs before joining Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette and then taking the Bachelor role directly after that. So once he found true love with now-wife Catherine Lowe, did he go back to his entrepreneurial roots? Not right away, of course, as you know he competed on Dancing With the Stars. But how about now — does he have a job?

Seemingly reading our minds, Sean took to his blog this week to answer that very question with the surprising answer of “I’m not sure.” You see, while the rest of us might be OK with the “9 to 5” office lifestyle, this 31-year-old is a little more flexible.

“Ever since I can remember, I’ve known that I didn’t want a ‘normal’ job,” Sean explains. “I never liked the idea of a routine and I always had aspirations of achieving success in a somewhat unconventional route.”

The reality star continues to cite the book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, which he says inspired him to “chase after my entrepreneurial dreams and achieve success in a more unconventional way” and gaining wealth “by creating different revenue streams through assets.”

Sean went and did just that after college by trying different ventures that occasionally worked and occasionally “failed miserably,” like a particular financial services company that went bankrupt.

Nowadays, the newlywed is paying the bills with his real estate investment company that he runs alongside a close friend, in which they build new homes as well as renovate and flip run down properties. He balances that with some work in the oil and gas industry — though the specifics of which are unclear — and then, of course, his career as a bestselling author of For the Right Reasons and a public speaker, his personal favorite.

“I get to share God’s love with people all over the country and talk about how my life has been shaped and changed through Jesus,” Sean says in regards to why he loves the touring route so much.

Sounds like an ideal situation, if you ask us. And as he rightly points out, he’s now got plenty of time to spend with his family in addition to providing them with a good living. Now about starting that family, SeanCat…
