Sean Lowe’s Sister: Our Family Wasn’t Accurately Represented on TV

After sitting on his back while he did shirtless push-ups on a group date, Emily Maynard's friend Wendy declared The Bachelorette Season 8 suitor Sean Lowe to be "a genetic gift to the world." Fair enough.

He looks perfect. He has two perfectly adorable dogs. He says the perfect things about family and faith. And when we met his parents, sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew on the hometown dates in Dallas, they looked like they stepped out of a catalogue. Even Emily, who looks pretty perfect herself, was intimidated by all the perfection.

Is the Lowe family always this picture-perfect? According to Sean's sister, Shay — who was featured on both The Bachelorette and Sean's rose-giving season of The Bachelor — nope!

You rarely hear about contestants getting too good an edit on The Bachelor/ette, but Shay told Access Alexis, "Our family was represented well on both shows but I don’t think it accurately describes us. I have had many people say that our family looks 'perfect'…well, it’s not. My family is great and I’m incredibly blessed but it’s far from perfect. What you saw on both of those shows was just 3 days out of our lives. We have a wonderful family but I would hate for anyone to think it’s perfect. No family is perfect."

Maybe they're not "perfect," but it is kind of adorable that Shay met her husband Andrew through Sean, after the boys played college football together at Kansas State. And now Shay and Andrew are adopting a little girl into their family, in addition to their son and daughter. It's hard not to think they are just about as close to perfect as a family can get. But we've seen Sean's moves on Dancing With the Stars, so we know he does have at least one flaw...
