Grey’s Anatomy Season 10 Spoilers: Alex Reunion’s With His Dad Is “Charged and Difficult”

With the troubled childhood Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) had, is there any hope that his father will be an upstanding gentleman? No? We thought not.

We've known for a while that Alex has no love lost for his dad. He even became a wrestler as a teen with the sole purpose of beating up his dad for abusing his mom. He did just that, and his father never returned home afterward.

Sure enough, the actor who's been cast in the role, Dexter star James Remar, confirms that Daddy Karev is not the best father figure.

"He's not a guy who's been living a very wholesome life," James tells TV Guide. "He's a drug addict and really on the skids. Their reunion is charged and difficult."

Considering the last time Alex saw his pops was when his pummeling fists sent the guy to the hospital, we're guessing that's an understatement.

Hopefully Alex's newfound romance with Jo (Camilla Luddington) will give him reason not to act violently. Maybe she can even broker a peace between the father and son.

We'll all find out how Alex's daddy issues play out when James guest-stars as the elder Karev for a story arc early in Season 10.

In the meantime, the season premieres with a two-hour double-header on September 26.

Will the reunion be unpleasant or downright horrendous? Speculate away below!
