Grey’s Anatomy Season 10: 3 Reasons Callie Should Forgive Arizona
Grey's Anatomy Season 10 is already off to a rough start for Calzona fans. While we completely understand Callie's (Sara Ramirez) reluctance to engage with her wife, we can't help but hope she'll find it in herself to forgive Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) for cheating. We want nothing more from this season than for these lovely ladies to find their way back to the loving, supportive, sexy relationship they used to have.
Why do we think Callie should forgive her cheating wife? You mean, other than that it would make shippers squeal? OK, fine. Here are three in-universe reasons Arizona's misstep shouldn't mean the end of a marriage.
1. There were mitigating circumstances. Is what Arizona did OK? Absolutely not. Cheating is a huge no-no, and given Callie's already painful history with infidelity, Arizona should have known how much it would hurt the woman she loves. That said, Arizona was still in recovery from a traumatic life-changing accident, and she clearly had a lot of anger stored up over her leg. It was a very complex moment in her life.
Again, we're not saying she handled her feelings in the right way — quite the opposite. But this is one of those cases of infidelity where we really do believe it was a one time thing brought about by extreme circumstances, and we hope Callie can find it in herself to trust Arizona again.
2. They have a daughter together. We're not big fans of parents staying together "for the kids" when the relationship is clearly broken. That said, we really do think that Calzona could become a beautiful thing again, and the fact that they have a daughter should give Callie a little extra motivation to try her hardest to get past everything that happened.
3. They's so good together. In the end, Callie and Arizona click. They compliment each other and bring out the best in each other. That's worth fighting for.
