Meredith and Derek adjust to life at home with a newborn but find it difficult being away from the hospital; Arizona [Jessica Capshaw] tries to takes steps to fix her broken marriage; Alex [Justin Chambers] and Jo [Camilla Luddington] navigate through their new relationship; and Owen [Kevin McKidd] clashes with Jackson [Jesse Williams] over financial issues at the hospital. Meanwhile, April [Sarah Drew] anxiously awaits her boards results.
Sounds pretty dramatic! But don't worry, there's also a lot of laughter headed our way this week.
What Happens With Calzona?
The official synopsis teases that Arizona is working to fix her marriage. How? Well, based on this preview it looks like she wants Callie to go to couple's therapy with her — but you can't always get what you want, and it sounds like Callie is still far from ready to compromise.
Alex hasn't always had the best luck in love, and it looks like his romance with Jo isn't off to the easiest start. Based on this preview they aren't getting it on. At all. The sneak peek below confirms that things aren't going exactly how Alex wants — much to Cristina's amusement. We have a feeling this plotline will lend itself to comedy moments, and we are so ready.
Speaking of Cristina...
Owen may spend much of this episode clashing with Jackson the Big Boss Man (it sounds like they have an argument over a pro bono surgery, amongst other things), but he still has time get awkward with his ex, as we can see in the sneak peek below. Oh, Owen and Cristina. How will you ever move on from each other?
That Said, Owen Also Cares About the Hospital a Lot
In that same sneak peek, we see that the board's various problems (Arizona and Callie's fight, MerDer being on leave, Richard's near-death recovery time) means they aren't responding to various problems that the hospital faces. You know, like the fact that there's a giant hole in the ceiling. Poor, frustrated chief Owen. No one wants to help you.
