Official Synopsis

Let's start off by seeing what the official synopsis has to say.

Meredith jumps back into work but finds it hard to excel at both motherhood and being a surgeon. Stephanie tries to make a good impression on Jackson’s mom, and Jo finds herself overly involved with her new patient. Meanwhile, Callie and Owen deal with an emotional situation regarding a patient.

Meredith vs. Cristina

Meredith isn't just struggling to be the world's number one mom and an A+ surgeon — she's also having some major problems on the BFF front this week.

For starters, Mer asks in on a simultaneous heart and liver transplant. Obviously, Cristina would be taking the heart, and Mer the liver. Sound like fun, right? Get a glimpse of that scene at the :31 second mark in this video:

So far, so good. But that doesn't last long. See, it turns out that Cristina picks up on Mer's not-so-perfect balancing act, and takes away the surgery because she thinks Mer isn't prepared.

You can see that confrontation in the sneak peek below, where Cristina tells Mer in no uncertain terms that she's been replaced by Bailey on the operation in question, because Mer is distracted by Zola (who apparently hit her head) and didn't read up on the exact procedure like Cristina asked.

Spoiler alert: That doesn't go over well. Surprise, surprise.

Alex's Daddy Issues

When the synopsis says "Jo finds herself overly involved with her new patient," what it means is her new patient is Alex's dad. Of course she's overly involved. As we see in this sneak peek she wants Alex and daddy not-so-dearest to reconnect. Alex, of course, hates that plan.

What do you think: Is reconciliation in the cards?
