We may not know what Callie did to make her the subject of a malpractice suit in the episode of Grey's Anatomy airing tonight, November 14 — Season 10, Episode 9, "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" — but the sneak peek below shows the fallout.
As Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) scrutinize an echocardiogram, Jo (Camilla Luddington) brings them to see the patient, Travis, an Olympic athlete and the future plaintiff. His leg has developed a gray-ish tinge.
Callie, concerned, schedules an emergency embolectomy to restore his blood flow, but Cristina considers his infected heart to be the more pressing matter.
Callie finally seems to convince Cristina to wait until tomorrow to operate on his heart, reasoning that an extra day of antibiotics might help his heart infection anyway. "This is Travis Reed we're talking about. Let me try to save his leg!"
We flash forward to a courtroom scene, in which Cristina testifies that she agreed with Callie's plan of action. Travis's lawyer argues that Callie bullied her, especially because of their screaming match. "We are passionate about our work," Cristina explains.
Flashback to a day after the embolectomy. Callie is just bragging about how well the embolectomy went then they arrive at Travis's room to find him frantic. He whips back his blanket, and we see that both legs — not just one — are nearly black in color.
"What the hell is wrong with my legs?" he demands.
