What's in store for us when a lawsuit comes into the picture next week? We've taken a close look at the promo for the episode to see what it reveals.
Callie in major trouble. The promo opens with Callie emerging from a door only to be bombarded by reporters. The next shot shows Owen helping her through the crowd of microphones and shouts, saying, "Excuse us!" Clearly, Callie has found herself caught up in a medical lawsuit that has grabbed the public's attention.
"Her mistake." The promo suggests that Callie did make some sort of mistake, showing her admit that there was a "complication" during a surgery. The voiceover says that "her mistake puts them all on trial."
Should they go to trial? At :04 we see the board discussing the situation. "If we go to trial, we risk bankruptcy again," Derek says. It looks like they don't go for a settlement, though, because the rest of the promo shows the docs in a courtroom.
How will it pan out? Also in the board meeting, we see Cristina warn, "[the patient] has a good case," and Mer argue, "there's another side to this."
So, what happened? At :08 we see a man being wheeled out in a wheelchair. Presumably, whatever put him in a wheelchair could potentially be blamed on malpractice on Callie's part.
Was the best? At :12 Cristina says, "She was the best orthopedic surgeon I knew." "Was the best?" the lawyer questioning her probes. "You don't believe she's the best anymore?" Wow. We're already on the edge of our seats.
