Poor Mousey. We’ve barely had a season to get to know you, and you’re already number one on our “Most Likely to Die in the Grey’s Anatomy Season 10 Premiere” list. It’s not that we don’t want intern Heather Brooks to stick around Grey Sloan Memorial, but her death just makes the most sense.
We know someone is going to die during the emotional two-hour opening — and it’s not going to be Richard Webber — so that leaves Mousey. Why? Well, here are three reasons she’s the most likely candidate.
1. She gets electrocuted in the premiere. This is perhaps the most obvious piece of evidence. In the Season 10 premiere, Shane lies to Heather and tells her Bailey told him to tell her to go find Webber. In actuality, Bailey told him to go find Webber. Heather is clearly confused — Derek used their special code to page her to the OR — but she goes in search of Webber in the basement. When she discovers Webber on the ground in a puddle of water, her first instinct is to run to him — unfortunately, this gets her electrocuted. In this clip from the premiere, Heather falls to the ground after a paralyzing shock. Things don’t look good for Mousey.
2. Actress Tina Majorino booked another job. Back in June, all of the interns were upgraded to series regulars, except for Heather’s portrayer, Tina Majorino. Tina has a previous commitment with TNT’s Legends lined up and she’s slated to reprise her role as Mac in the Veronica Mars movie. So unfortunately it looks like Tina’s schedule isn’t going to have room for any OR time this season. which only adds to our theory that Heather isn’t going to make it past the premiere.
3. “Time of death.” In the official Season 10 promo, Owen calls time of death on an unlucky patient. Now, we could assume that he’s referring to a victim of the truck explosion or the mudslide that hits Seattle i the premiere, but Derek looks pretty upset, too. Sure, it’s upsetting to lose a patient, but it’s even more upsetting to lose your surgical intern.
