Grey’s Anatomy Season 10: Shonda Rhimes Doing Rewrites, Plotting “Twisted Sexual” Cases?

In true Shonda Rhimes fashion, with Grey’s Anatomy kicking off filming today, July 17, she is already doing rewrites. The talented creator is notorious for changing things at the drop of a hat on set, and it looks like things are going to get a little twisted this time around.

In addition to her tweeting a photo of the first untitled script — captioning it, “Apparently, this script will not rewrite itself. I have to buckle down and get to work.” — writer Tony Phelan dropped a slightly-unsettling, yet exciting tidbit about the writers’ room chatter.

“Ahh Grey’s Writers’ Room: Where else in the world can you have long and impassioned arguments about the most twisted sexual/medical cases?” he wrote last night. Does that mean that Grey’s is bringing back some crazy, twisted cases of yesteryear? We recently admitted that we miss some of the mind-boggling cases that we saw in early seasons, but twisted and sexual? We weren’t expecting that!

Either way, it’s exciting that the show is gearing up for its milestone tenth season. We now know that it premieres on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 9 p.m. ET with a two-hour episode, which means it’s going to be extra crazy. Though not much has been divulged yet, there will be firefighters in the two-parter, which could mean a fire... or just a hot episode.

Are you nervous about Shonda’s rewrites? Do you want to see crazier cases? Sound off below
