So You Think You Can Dance Season 11: Which Choreographers Are Returning?
We wait all year long to watch a fresh crop of talented dancers compete on a new season of So You Think You Can Dance each summer, and with Season 11 of the FOX reality staple kicking off on May 28 at 8 p.m. ET, we’re happy to report that the months long wait is nearly over.
While we won’t know much about the new gaggle of contestants until the May 28 premiere, we do have a better idea of which uber talented choreographers might be lending their expertise to Season 11. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but in past seasons SYTYCD has pulled its choreographers from a highly-skilled pool of dance experts, many of whom have been with the show since its early days.
In last summer’s Season 10, the choreographers included Luther Brown, Stacey Tookey, Christopher Scott, Mia Michaels, Louis van Amstel, Sonya Tayeh, Travis Wall, Tyce Diorio, Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo (Nappytabs), Jason Gilkison, and several others. We won’t know exactly who will be back for Season 11 until the competition begins, but we’re sure we’ll see many familiar faces.
In the past, SYTYCD has won Outstanding Choreography Emmys for Mia Michaels (in 2011, 2010 and 2007); Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo (in 2011); Tyce Diorio (in 2009); and Wade Robson in 2008 and 2007.
