Dancing With the Stars Season 17 Changes: Sharna Burgess Weighs In — Exclusive!

Dancing With the Stars Season 16 introduced the world to Sharna Burgess, a creative pro who quickly won America's heart through her fun choreography and patience with partner Andy Dick. Will Sharna be back for Season 17? What does she think of all the rumored changes to the show?

Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Sharna at a Lifestyle magazine party in Beverly Hills on Thursday, June 6, and she dished about DWTS's future.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Will you be returning for the next season?

Sharna Burgess: Nobody really knows. I mean I hope so. I hope that all of us return for the next season. There was such an incredible energy in season sixteen. But truly we do not find out until two days before we meet our celebrity. It’s crazy.

But you would like to come back?

I would love to come back. I enjoyed it so much. Everything in me wants to be a part of next season, so I’m putting it out there to the universe.

What do you think of all of the changes that they’re doing to the show?

When I first heard about it, I was a little worried. Like, why are we changing a good thing? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But, you know what, 16 seasons on, let’s keep it fresh. Let’s change it up. Let’s do something different. We’ve been here for a long time, let’s try some new things. I think it’s going to be great.

Are there any changes that you’d like to see? Any ideas that you have for the show?

You know what, I feel like DWTS should be moved to Sunday. That’s my personal opinion. I feel like it’s a family Sunday show that everyone can get involved with. But as far as the production goes, they’re doing an amazing job. Our production value of each dance has gone up, so I couldn't ask for more.

Who would you like to see as a judge?

There’s a, maybe I’m biased because she’s a very good friend of mine but Carmit Bachar. She was the red head in the Pussycat Dolls. She is amazing. She has danced for everybody, sung, done everything all over the world, knows every style of dance. She’s young, she’s fresh, she’s hip. I think she would be an amazing face to have as our female judge. Absolutely an amazing face to see. As far as male dancers go, if one of our male pros left, I would say them for sure. Without saying any names because it’s all rumors right now, but who knows. But I would love to see one of our pro dancers come back and be a judge on the show.
